I’m pretty lazy. Or rather, I like to find efficiencies.
Hence the reason why this blog mainly consists of me pointing readers in the direction of pages I’ve come across and found interesting.
But now that I’m infected with the twittering virus I find it’s a much more efficient way to share interesting stories, videos and pictures that I come across in my web trawling. I.e. It’s shorter and easier.
There has been a lot of talk about whether twitter is the top layer of grease on a slippery slope to ever shorter and more inane – yet immediate – ways to communicate, although personally I doubt it. At least until they manage to invent a practical digital / consciousness interface along the lines of Clint Eastwood’s helmet for his fighter jet in the movie Firefox. Then you could send tweets / texts / emails merely by thinking them.
Needless to say, if you think you’ve got no privacy now, wait until that_ technology comes along.
All of which means I’ll be using Tumblr more along the lines it’s intended for, as a place to post original writing of my own rather than just pointing to what’s interesting.
PS I’m travelling to New York in May, and would appreciate any contacts or tips.
